TruEducation

What is TruEducation?
A program which connect students with young executives to help guide the career discovery and decision making process.

Do you have a student who is not sure what career path to take, who wants to know more about day to day work in a professional field they might enter before choosing their college? We can help!

The problem TruEducation addresses
For Parents:
With the ever increasing cost of college and the rapidly changing nature of the type of professions becoming  available in the workplace, many parents are highly focused on giving their child a better understanding of the potential career fields out there and ensuring that their college choice and major  is aligned with the professions their child is interested in.
For Students:
Trying to find out how your interests and abilities line up with the need to find a rewarding and enjoyable career is a daunting task. Watching career videos and taking career interest surveys only gets you so far. To really understand what a career and its  daily work is like, students want to meet with someone a little order than them in that career field of interest and speak with them directly in a comfortable and informal environment.

The solution TruEducation provides

Our solution is to get 3-7 students to meet face to face in a small group with 1-2 young executives from a certain industry passionate about sharing their career stories. They meet at a local co-working space in a supportive, open and safe environment where students feel comfortable sharing their questions and concerns with an executive vetted and trained by Apriton Educational Advisors. Over a one to one and half hour meeting, the students hear from the executive about their job, the work they do on a daily basis, what their pathway was into that career and and what they like and don't like about their jobs.

How the TruEducation program works

Students will meet on 7 occasions on a Sunday evening from 4.30 pm to 6pm.
Introductory Pilot Program Agenda -
Session 1: Intro to program and career inventory and interest
Session 2: Healthcare industry
Session 3: Design industry
Session 4: IT/Software/Data Analytics industry
Session 5: Engineering, Construction industry
Session 6: Business
Session 7: Reflection , sharing and celebration with parents. Next steps.

Program 2: Single Industry Focus:
For students who have completed the introductory course and now wish to meet with a variety of executives within a specific industry, we can arrange a custom program for that student subject to a minimum of three students signing up within a single industry track

Our pilot program will run from Sunday, September 29th until Sunday November 10th from 4.30 until 6 pm at The Commons workplace in Excelsior. Price for the pilot program is $300 per student.
